Legal advice is particularly important in cross-border matters. This may involve the drafting of a contract with a contracting party abroad and the question of which court has jurisdiction over a dispute and which law should be applied. Or it may be a question of which court or arbitration tribunal can be called upon in a current legal dispute. Sometimes there is also a choice between different jurisdictions, and it is important which choice is made. Finally, it may also be a question of whether and how a foreign court judgment or a foreign arbitration award can be enforced in Switzerland.
